Lisa Luby Ryan is a talented designer who began her career in 1985 when she established Luby Design Associates. She specializes in creating living spaces that reflect homeowners’ personalities, blending antiques with modern conveniences to satisfy today’s busy lifestyles. Custom-made home furnishings and accessories are hallmarks of the firm.
True to her entrepreneurial roots, Lisa is the proprietor of two home furnishings boutiques in Dallas’s Snider Plaza near Southern Methodist University. She, her staff and loyal clientele recently celebrated the first anniversary of Vintage Living, where customers find an array of monochromatic sophisticated selections with a touch of chic. At her second shop, At Home with a Past, Lisa specializes in the romantic cottage look.
Lisa’s design expertise has been recognized by her peers, who selected her “D Home” magazine’s Best Designer in 2004 and 2005. She has been named in “Who’s Who of National Interior Designers” and “Who’s Who of International Entrepreneurs.”
Her home was the cover story in a 2003 edition of Britain’s “Country Homes & Interiors” magazine and also was featured in “Traditional Home” magazine. Her work has appeared in “Southern Living,” “Country Home,” and the Dallas news and trade media. She also has been featured in two coffee-table books.
As the 2005 and 2006 president of Park Cities Republic Women, Lisa has implemented several groundbreaking programs, including a children’s literacy project in the Dallas Independent School District and educational seminars on the importance of voting. She has served the Republican Party in many capacities on state and local levels and has her eye on running for elected office.
Lisa also is involved in other community activities, including fundraising for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, assisting with extracurricular needs at The Shelton School and Highland Park High School, and participating in events sponsored by the Women’s Auxiliary of the Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.
A popular public speaker, Lisa has appeared before several Dallas business organizations and women’s groups. She attended the University of New Hampshire and Arizona State University.
Lisa and her husband Jay have made their home in Dallas’s Park Cities for several years. She has two sons, Kyle and Casey.
